Back in April, Senate Republicans pushed through SB 248, which would severely limit access to important medical benefits for catastrophically injured car crash victims.  If passed into law, the bill would significantly limit how much medical providers could be paid, limit the amount of attendant care available to crash survivors who need personal assistance, and make it more difficult for injured people to qualify for benefits.

Fortunately, after the bill passed the Senate and was sent to the House of Representatives at the end of April, it took a backseat to Michigan’s road funding circus.  Now that a roads bill has passed, it looks like pro-corporation, anti-people forces are back at work trying to make profits from the suffering of Michigan residents.  A Facebook page associated with insurance-company advocates seems to indicate SB 248 might be next on the legislative agenda.

If so, that’s bad news for people.  Contact your state Senator and Representative and tell them to stop giving handouts to insurance companies.
