As the father of 2 recent East Lansing High School graduates, I can scarcely imagine the pain and devastation felt by the families of five young people who lost their lives in two separate car crashes this weekend. One accident near Brighton claimed three teenagers, two from Okemos and one from Williamston, while the second accident, which occurred in Missouri, killed an East Lansing teen and his older sister.
In all sincerity, my thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. Nothing can be more heartbreaking than losing a child, especially in such an abrupt and unexpected manner. We should all take a moment this morning to think about our own loved ones and to let them know what they mean to us.
