Two separate motor vehicle accidents have claimed the lives of two young Mid-Michigan women this week. In Bellevue Township, one young woman was killed and two sustained serious injuries after the car in which they were traveling struck a tree on Ionia Road. The same day, a DeWitt woman riding her bicycle died after being struck by a passing car. Both collisions occurred on Tuesday after the Labor Day weekend and remain under investigation.
Holiday Travel Risks
Holidays tend to be risky for motorists and those around them. Whatever the reason, crashes and injuries tend to spike as more people hit the road. Now that school is in session in Michigan and across the country, more young drivers and passengers can be expected to be on the road, particularly during peak travel times.

I wholeheartedly agree with David on this. Just driving short trips within town have scared me.
Senseless acts by drivers and such have me white knuckle and looking around me more often.
