At least three people lost their lives in separate tragic automobile accidents in Mid-Michigan this week. Two of the crashes were single vehicle accidents with no clear cause. The third collision occurred when another motorist lost control on snow-covered roads. In all three, a vehicle crossed over into oncoming lanes of traffic.
Automobile accidents are unexpected can be caused by just an instant of carelessness. While car crashes can never be fully prevented, you can take some important steps to help keep yourself safe. Always buckle up, and be aware of changing road conditions. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to reach your destination, especially in adverse weather. Don’t drive drowsy or distracted. And make sure your vehicle is well-maintained.
Some of this advice may seem like common sense, but that doesn’t mean it’s not important. Even a seemingly harmless shortcut can have catastrophic consequences.
