Westbound I-96 near Okemos Road in Alaiedon Township was the site for a rollerover auto accident this morning involving a pregnant woman. The crash took place early this morning at approximately 2:55 a.m. That stretch of highway has been under construction throughout this summer with portions of the highway altered with lanes shifted from their regular location or reduced in number.
Ingham County Sheriff’s Lt. Eric Trojanowicz indicated that the driver went off the right hand shoulder of the highway and when she attempted to correct herself, she lost control of her vehicle and flipped. Fortunately, she was not severely injured and the timing of the accident likely prevented a greater calamity with reduced traffic.
