In the wake of highly publicized car crashes involving teenagers, some experts are advocating more stringent laws regarding young drivers in Michigan. While the state has already implemented a “graduated” driver’s license system, there is a bill sitting in the Michigan Legislature that some believe would make our streets safer.
Michigan has been among the leading states in the nation in terms of adopting safe driving laws. The recently enacted texting ban and “super drunk” driving law are just two examples of how lawmakers have been trying to protect lives and prevent injury. However, there is no substitute for personal responsibility and good parenting. Hopefully these measures will result is a safe driving experience for the young people of Michigan.
