A 43-year-old Holt woman is slowly recovering from a February 3, 2010 car crash that took place on the corner of Edgar Road and Harper Road in Delhi Township. The accident took place just before 8:00 p.m. that Wednesday night. The woman was traveling southbound on Edgar Road when she approached Harper Road and could not stop in time due to the icy road conditions.

After she slid into the intersection, the passenger side of her vehicle was struck by a car traveling on Harper Road. Initially, the woman was taken to Sparrow Hospital and listed in critical condition. She was subsequently upgraded to serious condition.

Delhi Township Asst. Fire Chief Pat Brown was quoted by the Lansing State Journal as saying that the corner of Harper and Edgar already claimed the life of a driver a couple years ago."It can be dangerous," Brown said. "Especially with slick roads."

With the winter storms the Mid-Michigan area is receiving this week, it is important to give yourself extra time for your travel plans so that you can drive at a slower speed on icy roads.
