At around 1:50 a.m. Saturday morning an SUV and a Dodge Intrepid collided at the intersection of East Saginaw Street and North Howard Street in Lansing, Michigan. The 19-year old driver of the Intrepid and his passenger were pinned inside the vehicle after it struck a guardrail, requiring the Lansing Township Fire Department paramedics to extricate them out of the vehicle.

The driver of the Intrepid was admitted to a local hospital for serious injuries, the passenger was treated at the hospital and released, and the driver of the SUV was treated at the scene. Excessive speed and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors to the accident.
