Late yesterday afternoon, a man noticed a woman being attacked by five or six pit bulls. When the man attempted to help her, the dogs attacked him, leaving both of them hospitalized. Police responded to the scene and had to resort to shooting one of the dogs, animal control detained two others. Witnesses stated that all of the dogs should have been shot and if it would have been children instead of adults, they would’ve been dead. The dog bite wounds were not considered life threatening.
The dogs allegedly belong to local men, about 18 or 19 years old, who trained the dogs to fight in backyard matches. The owners have yet to be located.
