A suspect attempting to flee police caused a five-car auto accident in Lansing yesterday. According to authorities, DeWitt Township police tried to pull over a dark-colored, four-door vehicle for a traffic violation. The vehicle sped off south on US 27, which turns into Larch Street in Lansing. The suspect vehicle ran a red light, t-boned an SUV in the intersection, and then collided with three more vehicles in the oncoming lane.
The driver of the suspect vehicle then attempted to evade arrest on foot, but was eventually apprehended. At least five people were hospitalized as a result of this incident, and at least one may have serious injuries.
