The Food and Drug Administration and Health Canada are warning consumers not to purchase two types of energy drinks packaged in test-tube vials because of an apparent case of tampering: two vials contained utility knife blades. One blade was discovered in a vial of Hardcore Energize Bullet drink and the other in a vial of New Whey liquid products. The FDA and Health Canada are recalling both products.
Hardcore Energize Bullet is manufactured and sold in Canada by Protica Inc. It is available in two flavors, Blue Rage and Black Rush. New Whey is made and sold in the United States by Oviedo of Florida and comes in flavors of fruit punch and blue raspberry.
No injuries have been reported as a result of the tampering.
