Sylmar, CA–two sisters are accused of practicing medicine without a license and selling illegal injectable cosmetics that left some of their “clients” with hardened plastic underneath their skin. Guadalupe Viveros and Alejandra Viveros were arrested on Monday on suspicion of medical malpractice and are being held in lieu of $20,000 each.

An investigation was launched after the sisters’ customers began to complain of becoming ill as a result of using the cosmetic fillers that were injected into their faces or buttocks. In addition, some of the fillers actually hardened into plastic underneath the patients’ skin and caused serious infections. Unfortunately, the LAPD believes that the Viveros sisters had a long list of clients in the area.

While Guadalupe Viveros claimed to be a registered physician in Mexico, she was not licensed to practice in the U.S. Nevertheless, Alejandra apparently obtained the clientele for her sister.
