No doubt I have been critical of the inability of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to adequately monitor and regulate what drugs get to market, allowing dangerous and defective medication to injure people. Now Gideon J. Sofer writes in the Wall Street Journal that "The FDA Is Killing Crohn’s Patients."
This struck a nerve with me. My father suffered from Crohn’s disease for many years before his death and currently one of my closest friends is suffering. I want a cure for all Crohn’s patients. What is the cost? How do we study the testing? What are the ethical considerations? Mr. Sofer is asking the right questions – who has the answers?
