Just before rush hour on Friday August 22, 2008, a tanker truck carrying nearly 20,000 gallons of fuel rolled over on top of a SUV, killing one person and injuring a few others. It is still not clear exactly what caused the tanker truck to roll over, but police are still investigating. A portion of US 127 north near the 496 interchange was closed from 5pm Friday until just after 4am on Saturday morning.
