Around 8:30am today, October 5, 2010, a multiple car accident happened on westbound I-96 near the Martin Luther King Blvd and Cedar Street exits off of I-96. It’s not clear how this accident occurred at this point, but police reports indicate one person was killed and at least three other people were injured in the crash. Traffic was re-routed around the crash for a few hours and the highway was reopened shortly after 11am. Once police complete their investigation we should know more about how this unfortunate death happened.
There was another accident on the eastbound lane of I-96 at the same time, it was not clear if any injuries resulted from that accident. It did slow traffic for a period of time while the accident was cleaned up.
