Last week, I expressed some frustration with distracted drivers of all ages. Those of you who read this blog regularly know that wasn’t just a one-time reaction. Since last year, I’ve been working with attorneys and safety advocates across the country to create awareness of the dangers of distracted driving. And as we approach April, which is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, I’d like to highlight the work of my friend Joel Feldman.
Joel’s daughter Casey tragically lost her life at age 21 when she was hit in a crosswalk by a distracted driver. Committed to preserving her memory and saving lives, Joel started the Casey Feldman Memorial Foundation to help end distracted driving. The Foundation, in conjunction with End Distracted Driving (EndDD.org) and other organizations, has reached thousands of drivers by going out into the community and spreading the message of safe driving.
I’m honored to be a part of this movement. If we all work together to practice safe driving habits, we can make our roadways less dangerous.
