A fiery natural gas explosion at an upscale restaurant in Kansas City has left at least 14 people injured and three dead. Cadaver dogs are at the sight of the explosion that occurred at JJ's Restaurant around 6 p.m. Tuesday night. The flames of the blaze only stopped once firefighters had shut off the gas supply to the restaurant, and investigators will not be sure of the exact cause until the cadaver dogs are through with their search of the remains, which at the earliest will be by this morning.

Early speculations from investigators suggest that a contractor doing underground work struck a natural gas line below the restaurant, sparking the blaze. This isn't the first time that a massive construction project that has been in motion since 2006 on the narrow, one-way street where JJ's Restaurant sit has caused problems for the restaurant. In 2006, a server required hospital treatment after a rock was sent flying by excavation at the construction site.

So far, The University of Kansas Hospital has treated six people injured in the blast. One person is reportedly in critical condition, two were in serious condition, and two others are expected to be released. St. Luke's Hospital says they have treated eight people, with two in critical condition and the other six with minor injuries. In addition, authorities say that one person that was a server at the restaurant Tuesday night is still missing.
