Sparrow Michigan Athletic Club Has a Big Problem, or Not

I have been a member of the Sparrow Michigan Athletic Club (MAC) since it opened over 25 years ago.  It is the premier health club in the State of Michigan.  In fact, outside of the East Bank Club in Chicago, which has a population of over 2 million people, the MAC rivals any physical fitness health facility in the country.  “Improving the health of the people in our communities by providing quality, compassionate care to everyone, every time” is their motto.

On May 19, 2017, I received an email from the MAC announcing effective May 20, 2017, the Wellness Factor Massage Company will no longer work at the Sparrow MAC.  The Wellness Factor Massage Company is owned and operated by Clement Goudiaby.  Their website suggests their “great team of professional certified massage therapists at the MAC has more than 100 years’ combined experience.”  Massage therapists in Michigan are licensed and registered by the Michigan Bureau of Professional Licensing/Bureau of Community and Health Systems (LARA).

Our office represents a young woman who has reported to the authorities that she was sexually assaulted by Clement Goudiaby during a massage “treatment” at the MAC recently.  Based on the investigation, a warrant has been issued for his arrest on charges of CSC 4.

If Sparrow is truly being “pro-active” here and responding to the 1st known claim of inappropriate behavior by terminating his relationship with the MAC so quickly, then they truly are getting out in front and leading by example on how to protect young girls and women.  We then would like to team up with Sparrow as a corporate partner in helping all people young and older become more educated on spotting the “nice guy” sexual predator.  However, if we find out that there have been prior complaints that haven’t risen to the level of police investigation and were covered up, that would be a deal breaker.
