August 2 we have an important decision. We need a new Ingham County Prosecutor. I have studied, read, observed, and learned about all the candidates. Based on all the available information, one candidate stands out as the best – Carol Siemon. She is able to balance the two most important qualities we need now: strong and progressive. Her exceptional resume supports why the Lansing Association for Human Rights rated Carol Siemon as the only candidate of the group with the “Very Positive” distinction.
Carol Siemon was an Assistant Ingham County Prosecutor for 11 years. Her list of advisors and endorsers is quite impressive: Mayor David Hollister, Mayor Virg Bernero, Dr. Joan Jackson Johnson, Hon. Peter Houk, Hon. Paula Manderfield, Hon. James Giddings, Dr. Sharon Hobbs, Hon. H. Lynn Jondahl, Mayor Mark Meadows, and the list goes on and on.
She has investigated child welfare agencies, prosecuted domestic violence and sexual assault offenders, worked with the Michigan Race Equity Coalition, and developed policies to stop the over-representation of minorities in juvenile facilities. Just watch for yourself:
Carol Siemon will work for the people of Ingham County, build a system that stops crime and provides justice for all.
