Thanksgiving is around the corner and I have much to be thankful for personally and professionally this year. For starters, I underwent successful treatment for prostate cancer. My post-surgical PSA scores of 0.00 during the course of this past year confirm the post-surgical pathology of clean margins and no sign of the dreaded complications of the procedure. My wife Jill and I celebrated our 25 year anniversary and her 12 years of being a breast cancer survivor. Our daughter Hannah graduated from Michigan State University (MSU) with a degree in Nutritional Science. She is now working on her Masters in Social Work (MSW) at Loyola University in Chicago, and doing a clinical interenship at the Core Center of Stroger Hospital AIDS/HIV clinic. Our son Max graduated East Lansing High School with honors and has recovered well from a serious knee injury he suffered while playing varsity lacrosse. He is a freshman at MSU and is loving life. Needless to say, I am very proud of them.

2010 was a busy year at the Church Wyble law firm. We were co-sponsors with WLNS TV for the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon and a sponsor of Ele’s Place, a center for grieving children. We were able to help many victims this year recover compensation as a result of injuries from medical malpractice, truck and auto negligence, premises liability, pharmacy/pharmacist errors, and the unthinkable – pedophile priest abuse.

On a sad note, the Michigan elections didn’t go as well as I would have liked for the most part. We all worked hard at the firm and I am proud of everyone who stepped up to help. So as we approach this time of giving thanks, take a step back and really think about the good and be thankful, deal with the bad and be strong and keep trying to be the best you can be.

Thanks for giving me the chance to share and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

You certainly do have much to be thankful for this past year. You didn't mention if your golf handicap improved.

Thanks for sharing David. You are right, we all need to take a moment every day to consider what we have, not what we don't have.

I'm thankful I got to meet you through Injury Board.

I hope it is smooth sailing from here out!!!

Great article David. That's really what it's all about and we all need a reminder from time to time. Thank you.

    Dave:

I had no idea you were struggling with prostate cancer. I am so happy that things turned out as well as they did. It sounds like your family has been faced with substantial adversity but on the other hand has been perservering and rewarded with the success that hard work and persistence brings.

    Congratulations and Happy Thanksgiving.
