Amidst all of the supposed “grassroots” opposition to President Obama’s healthcare reform plans, a Bloomberg News poll recently found that 8 out of 10 Americans actually support the President’s goals to change the U.S. healthcare system. In fact, 8 out of 10 of those polled, support covering the uninsured, curbing costs, creating an insurance-purchasing exchange, and preventing insurers from dropping or refusing coverage to people with preexisting conditions.

The poll, conducted September 10-14, found that 48% of respondents favored Obama’s plan, while 42% oppose it. Moreover, respondents felt that Obama’s September 9th speech helped debunk false rumors. In fact, 6 out of 10 respondents do not believe that Obama would set up “death panels” to decide who would receive care, or that federal money would be used to provide abortions. Similarly, respondents did not believe that Obama plans to cover illegal immigrants—despite what South Carolina Representative Joe Wilson might say.

However, what does seem to be the problem is the cost of healthcare reform. What most Americans are concerned about is the legislation contributing to the federal budget deficit. Nevertheless, the majority of those polled stated that employers should have to offer insurance, and that individuals should be required to have coverage. Most telling of Americans’ attitudes toward healthcare reform is that 6 out of 10 of those polled felt that the current healthcare system has problems that need to be fixed. Who’s to blame for most of the healthcare system’s problems? According to most polltakers, insurance companies are the biggest culprits, followed by pharmaceutical companies. In fact, 50% viewed health insurers unfavorably, while more than half blamed pharmaceutical companies.

Now that E-Verify is becoming a nationwide verification application to extract 20 million plus illegal immigrants from businesses. It is now growing in aggressive performance for placing true US workers in the job line and outing illegal labor. This operation should now extend to certainly more purposeful uses? That means not just federal contractors but everybody who draws a pay check? Should a health care reform pass all obstacles in the House and Senate chambers, it could have an invaluable function of checking people who are not only applicants for jobs, but health care reform registry. Illegal immigrants are already getting free emergency hospital care and--WE--pay for it. In the future it should be considered to vet a person’s nationality status, when applying for a mortgage? The United States banking system, financial institution were all but swept away on a deluge of corruption that has very sinister undertones in an organization called ACORN.

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform now is under state and federal investigations at this very moment. Other involved institution impacted both Freddie Mac/Freddie Mae and a scheme incorporating underhand minority lending practices. But you might not have heard any of this, from the liberal media about the massive illegal alien mortgage accusations. The whole debacle was the involvement in a corrupt enabling banking industry and ethnic lobbyists, using unethical methods, along with Bush administration to guarantee loans for low income and people that could not possibly afford mortgages. Didn't Wall Street, the government regulators learn anything from the Savings and loan crisis in the 1980?

Michelle Malkin is a quack, a right-wing nutjob. I am pretty sure that if she says the sky is blue, I will be looking outside to make sure. Maybe you should google Michelle Malkin-Graeme Frost, he's a small child who Michelle stalked all because he had the audacity to support expansion to SCHIP. You can read all about it here, http://firedoglake.com/2007/10/09/what-is-wrong-with-you/. She is a vile commentator who spreads lies in order to confuse people about what's really at stake.

As for ACORN and Fannie and Freddie, please be aware that they are not to blame for the mortgage crisis. You seem to be forgetting that banks made loans to people, and many times they did so without checking proper documentation or verifying income. The Community Reinvestment Act has been around for nearly 30 years, but you want to say it is causing problems now? What basis do you have for these assertions?

The dirty little secret is that we all pay for medical care for not only people who are here illegally, but people who cannot afford care at all. I think it would be deplorable to ask someone who is dying to show their papers in order to be saved, is that the society you want to live in? Are yo aware that e-verify catches people who are citizens with paperwork issues as well as actual illegal immigrants? http://epic.org/privacy/surveillance/spotlight/0707/default.html. The solution to your problem of providing health care to people is to cost the government more money. I am pretty sure it would be cheaper to just cover everyone under Medicare or Medicaid, regardless or immigration status, uncap the FICA taxes to cover income over $106,000 and then we could all be covered for a fraction of the cost we currently spend to leave 50 million without insurance.

Why are you so afraid of helping your fellow human beings, is it because they have different color skin then you?
