Gretchen Whitmer is the most qualified person to effectively govern Michigan.  She is the only candidate completely committed to a campaign, foregoing employment opportunities because the stakes are so high for the People of Michigan.  Gretchen is a young, dynamic person who has served as the Ingham County Prosecutor, teacher at both University of Michigan and Michigan State University, practiced law in the private sector, and served in both the State House and State Senate (where she was the Minority Leader when she was term limited) in Michigan.

Why do I feel she is the most qualified?  I have had the opportunity to watch her work during her entire career.  I have worked with her on issues and where her commitment and passion for People were second to no one I have worked with of the course of my 33 years as a trial lawyer on the side of People.  Look at her Michigan for Whitmer Facebook page with over 5,000 members, all gathered while the page was a closed group.  Unsolicited enthusiasm like this is uncommon and speaks volumes about her professionally and personally.

Gretchen’s deep state-level experience actually in the trenches of our Michigan Legislature will make her the best choice to effectively execute the executive decision as Governor of Michigan.  She can start the work of governing on Day 1.  Her relationships with the most talented state government people will allow Gretchen to execute and achieve the best results quickly.  She has achieved many victories over her legislative career, despite being in the minority party.  From “The Vagina Monologues” to Healthy Michigan, Detroit’s Grand Bargain and stem cell research, she has fought for People, while also leading the opposition on issues like state-sanctioned bullying, “rape insurance,” voting rights/disenfranchisement, right to work, and many more.

When Gretchen Whitmer speaks, people listen, and her ability to command statewide and national attention to issues is unmatched, but equally important is when People talk to her, she listens.
