Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette is Wasting Our Tax Dollars On Purely Partisan Politics

Schuette recently filed an emergency application for a stay with the United States Supreme Court.  For what? To try and reverse a Federal District Court Judge ruling preventing the Republican Party in Michigan from eliminating straight party voting.  A three-judge panel of the US 6th Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the lower court.  The entire 6th Circuit refused to hear the issue en banc, leaving in place the District Court decision.  Today, the US Supreme Court also refused to take up the issue.

Bill Schuette is wasting our time, energy, and money trying to enforce a law that has been voted down twice by the people of Michigan.

On This Basis Alone, He is Not Fit to be Elected MI Governor Any More than Donald Trump is to President of The United States

This is not Schuette’s only problem by a long shot.  He is and was on the wrong side of historic moments in Michigan, and the US Supreme Court Ruling allowing marriage equality.  He wasted our time, energy, and money trying to scheme Michigan same sex couples out of their legal rights.

On the issue of the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act, a voter initiative that over 63 percent of Michigan voters approved, he declared that it violated federal law.  The list goes on, people.  This Dow Chemical baby, to quote Jack Lessenberry, is the most potentially dangerous political demagogue of an attorney general in Michigan history.

He recently joined a lawsuit against the EPA’s Clean Power Plan.  This lawsuit is so contrary to the interests of Michigan People on many levels.  In particular, the Clean Power Plan is a momentous opportunity to revitalize Michigan’s economy.

He is So Busy Wasting Our Time, Energy, and Money, He Doesn’t Get His Job Done

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette failed to be on duty for the survivors and victims of the Flint water crisis.  His office received many complaints about water quality concerns in Flint, some sent to Schuette’s office a year before a criminal investigation into the lead poisoning crisis was announced.  His excuse? His office receives 9,000 contacts every year, and “No attorney general … is able to read the thousands of complaints that come to the office.”  He now has tried to claim he didn’t become aware of the public health crisis in Flint until late 2015.  That is either not true or he failed to be on duty, as between April 1, 2014 and December 31, 2015, 14 people contacted his office.  A handful of complaints were submitted on January 29, 2015, six between January 29, 2015 and April 9, 2015.

State employees in Flint began receiving bottled purified water in January of 2015.  Think about that as Governor Snyder and Attorney General Bill Schuette try and claim they knew nothing until the Fall of 2015.  This doesn’t smell right, people.

It's true that this Neanderthal and his GOP soulmate Snyder have done more harm than good to our state. But remember, it couldn't have happened without an impotent .Democratic Party

U are right Don, it started in 1990 w former Gov Blanchard's arrogant lackluster campaign for a 2nd term that he lost, his appointment of former Justice Mallet who bailed on us and the gerrymandering by the MI R team, but I see a crack and am optimistic we can win the MI House back this year, the MSC is as good as it has been for a long time, and if we continue to go high when they go low, we can win the MI Gov race in 2018!
