Two Men Fall 100 Feet Over Cliff in Hawaii

Comments Off

You've probably seen a movie where a car is perilessly navigating a winding road that goes up the side of a mountain. Two men in Hawaii had the scare of a lifetime when they found themeselves doing just that and fell over the cliff–but still lived to tell the tale.

While traveling in a car on the winding streets in Maui, two men tumbled 100 feet over the edge of a cliff. Thankfully, both men survived but the ordeal nearly cost them their lives. According to reports, the two tourists were traveling on Makamakaole Gulch on Kahekili Highway in the early hours of Tuesday morning when they veered off of the road and plummeted over the edge of the cliff.

One man, a visitor from South Carolina, apparently hiked uphill for an hour to find help. The other man stayed in the vehicle, and fire and rescue crews helped to extract him once the first man was able to find help at about 5:30 a.m. Both men were treated for their minor injuries and released from the hospital. Neither man has been identified.
