Car Bomb Attack in Michigan Critically Injures Father and Two Young Sons

Comments Off

Monroe, MI–a car bomb exploded on a Michigan street late Tuesday evening, seriously injuring a man–allegedly reported to be an attorney–and his two sons. According to officials, the three are lucky to be alive after their vehicle was turned into a hunk of blackened metal. Federal officials are now poring over the evidence to determine how the bomb was made, who is responsible for the attack, and if the attack was planned at random or if the man was specifically targeted.

Authorities declined to specify who the three victims were, but did say that they were all in serious condition. The three were taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo, OH, about 20 miles south of Monroe. Shawn Remington, a witness to the attack, said that he heard what sounded like a dumpster lid being slammed down when he saw a big column of smoke. Before he knew it, firefighters were at the scene extinguishing the blaze. Rescue workers helped the victims into an ambulance and transported them to the hospital. The car was apparently "melted down" to nothing but a heap of metal.

Monroe is one of the oldest cities in Michigan and is home to 20,000 people. It has an historic downtown area and is also the home of La-Z-Boy furniture. The ATF is offering a $10,000 reward for any information on the attack.
